Sparkling Nogroni

IMG_6993.jpeg

I want to draw your attention to the lovely non-alcoholic options now available. People who don't drink alcohol normally get short changed or receive sugary sweet drinks, especially at Christmas. Alcohol free wine tastes vile, so we need other options.

This photo is a variation on a "Nogroni". (alcohol free Negroni.) These ingredients are expensive - as expensive as a bottle of alcohol, but if you want to feel special over Christmas without enduring the whole thing on a sugar high, then try some of these. They are low calorie, and low sugar.

Ingredients and method

Mix equal parts of Seedlip Grove 42, Aecorn Aromatic and Aecorn Bitter. Pour over ice

Top with Botonique, soda water or tonic water.

Garnish with a slice of orange and a cinnamon stick.

I encourage you to experiment with non alcoholic options. Try sparkling tea , kombucha, Seedlip, Aecorn, or Botonique. If anyone says “I’m are not spending money on that because it doesn't have any alcohol in it” is missing the point entirely.

Supermarkets are now stocking many of these but the sparkling tea is only available from Fortnums.
